There is a pain revolution reverberating around the world on the back of recent years’ neuroscience. You can have a huge impact on your own experience of pain if you know what is actually occurring rather than what others may have told you.Back pain is the biggest dissabler globally and it has been treated ineffectively in the majority of cases according to Buchbinder et al, The Lancet May 2018. These short courses help people suffering with chronic, persistent or recurring pain to understand what is causing their pain and what they can do themselves in order to get back to participating in their chosen work or leisure activities. We had great success with the Pain Self management Courses in 2018. Some patients were funded by motor accident or workers compensation insurance, though most saw the value in self funding. The next course will be run over 4 x 2.5 hour sessions at 10:30am – 1:00pm on Wednesdays: March 20 and 27 and April 3 an 10, 2019. The cost is $600 and includes handouts. Content is based on the RNSH Brief Pain Self Management Program. Numbers are limited. Call Isabel on 99076387 to reserve a place.
